Opening width, gate weight, post size, post setting, frame construction, bracing, hinge placement, latch alignment, ground clearance, and drainage all affect how the gate operates. Wider or heavier gates require more support than an ordinary fence panel.

Sometimes. We first need to assess the existing fence, posts, opening, grade, and material. A new gate needs adequate support, and the surrounding fence may need modification or reinforcement.
How wide should my gate be?+
Gate width depends on what must pass through it. Pedestrian traffic, lawn equipment, trailers, vehicles, farm equipment, and commercial access all require different clearances. We recommend confirming the largest regular use before the opening is finalized.
